Visit
The Bistritsa Monastery “Saint Petka” is located near the village of Bistritsa, close to Sofia, at the foot of Vitosha Mountain. It was founded in the 10th century during the First Bulgarian Empire. Destroyed and rebuilt several times under Ottoman rule, it became an important spiritual center. The church preserves valuable 17th-century frescoes and local religious traditions.
