Gornobogrovski Monastery of Saint George the Victorious is located near the village of Gorni Bogrov, close to Sofia. It was founded in the Middle Ages, probably in the fourteenth century. Destroyed during Ottoman rule, it was repeatedly rebuilt. The present church dates from the nineteenth century, featuring valuable murals and active spiritual life. The monastery belongs to the Sofia tradition.
