Plana Mountain

Plana is part of the Zavalsko–Planska mountain range and impresses with its oval shape and extensive level ridge with an average height of about 1250–1300 m. Its highest point – Manastirishte peak (1337 m), offers a panoramic view of Rila and Vitosha that you will remember for a long time.

Part of its northern slopes fall into the NATURA 2000 network, and its routes are suitable for family outings, bike tours and hiking.

One of the famous routes is from the center of the village of Plana, to the Zhelezniki Monastery "St. Spirit", which is located under the Manastirisha peak. Nearby is the very old beech tree, in whose trunk there is water that is considered healing.
