The "Slavic Discourse" society was founded in 1879 in the Sofia cafe "Paris" on the initiative of the Czechs Prošek and Bezenšek with the aim of getting to know and bringing the local residents closer to the Slavs living in Sofia. The old beautiful building was built according to a project by the Austrian architect H. Mayer, and the new one is the work of arch. As Mihajlovski, together with G. Apostolov. The architecture is rational, typical of modern Sofia - Viennese Baroque and Secession. The new building housed a theater hall, shops and a restaurant. Gradually, the "Discourse" became one of the cultural centers of the capital, where concerts were held, performances by the theater group "Tear and Laughter" were performed, and celebrations - organized.
