The Rotunda of St. George in Sofia is the oldest preserved building in the city, built in the early 4th century during the reign of Roman Emperor Constantine the Great (306–337) in ancient Serdica.

It initially served as an early Christian baptistery and was converted into a church in the 6th century under Emperor Justinian I (527–565).

In the 16th century, it became a mosque during Ottoman rule.

The Rotunda was restored starting in 1915 and today functions as an active Orthodox church, notable for its medieval frescoes.
