St. Nicholas of Sofia Church in Sofia is a large Bulgarian Orthodox church at 76 Pirotska Street. It honors Saint Nicholas of Sofia, martyred by the Ottomans in 1555, and his feast is celebrated on May 17. After two decades of preparations and fundraising, the church was consecrated on December 3, 1900. It houses relics of the saint and features an ornate iconostasis and frescoes largely by Russian artist Rostovtsev.
