The Holy Transfiguration Church

Visit

The Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in the Lozenets district of Sofia, near the National Palace of Culture, is an active Bulgarian Orthodox parish. The original church was built in 1928 and featured three naves, a transept, and a bell tower. On January 10, 1944, it was destroyed during World War II bombings. It was rebuilt and enlarged in 1945, making it larger than before. The church celebrates its feast day of the Transfiguration on August 6 each year.
