The Evangelical Methodist Episcopal Church “Dr. Albert Long” in Sofia was founded on land acquired in 1922.
The first Sunday service in the current building took place on December 1, 1924, and it was formally dedicated on September 17, 1925.
Named for American missionary Dr. Albert Limerick Long (1832–1901), who helped translate the Bible into modern Bulgarian, the church played a role in early Protestant work in Bulgaria.
During the communist era the building served as a concert and rehearsal space, and after 1994 it was restored for regular worship.
