The Romanian Orthodox Church “Holy Trinity” in Sofia was built based on the design by architect Friedrich Grünanger with builder Vasil Gligov.

The cornerstone was laid on 9 May 1905, and construction was completed in 1912 with support from the Romanian state and community.

It was formally consecrated on 6 December 1923.

The church features three domes and rich Neo‑Byzantine interior decoration with frescoes and wood carvings. In March 1944, the central vault and dome were damaged by bombings and later restored.
