Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, known as the Russian Church “St. Nicholas the Wonderworker”, was built from 1907 to 1914 in Sofia, designed by Russian architect Mikhail Preobrazhenski in the Russian Revival style for the Russian diplomatic mission and community.

After the 1917 October Revolution, it became a spiritual center for Russian émigrés. Since 1953 the church has been under the Moscow Patriarchate’s jurisdiction.

In its crypt lies Archbishop Seraphim Sobolev, venerated as a miracle‑worker by many believers.
