Sofia continues to strengthen its appeal among Polish travellers, recording remarkable growth during the first quarter of 2026. Compared to the same period in 2025, the Bulgarian capital welcomed 112% more visitors from Poland, while overnight stays increased by 111%.
This strong performance reflects both the growing interest in Sofia as a destination for cultural and city tourism and the excellent air connectivity between Bulgaria and Poland.
Regular flights operated by LOT Polish Airlines, Wizz Air and Ryanair provide convenient access to Sofia from several major Polish cities. Increased flight frequencies during the summer season further support the growing demand.
LOT Polish Airlines
- Warsaw – 38 weekly flights
Wizz Air
- Warsaw – up to 10 weekly flights (from 8 June 2026)
- Kraków – 8 weekly flights
Ryanair
- Warsaw Modlin – 12 weekly flights
- Kraków – 8 weekly flights
- Wrocław – 4 weekly flights
Visit Sofia continues to strengthen its presence in the Polish market through annual participation in major tourism fairs in Warsaw and Wrocław, as well as by organising familiarisation trips for Polish journalists and media representatives. These initiatives promote Sofia as an attractive destination for cultural, city and events tourism.
The growing visitor numbers and expanded air connectivity reinforce Poland's position as one of Sofia's key international tourism markets and create excellent prospects for continued growth throughout the year.
