Visit Sofia participated in Tourism & Travel Expo 2026, held in Chișinău from 30 January to 1 February 2026, marking the Bulgarian capital's first official appearance at an international travel exhibition in Moldova.
During the exhibition, Sofia was promoted as an attractive city break destination, offering a unique blend of rich cultural heritage, vibrant urban life and memorable visitor experiences. Particular emphasis was placed on the city's excellent transport connections and the ease of planning independent short trips.
Visit Sofia's participation reflects the growing demand for city breaks and the increasing tourism exchange between Bulgaria and Moldova, supported by the expanding air connectivity between the two capitals.
By making its debut in Chișinău, Sofia continues to strengthen its international presence and promote itself as a modern European destination for both leisure and business travel.
In 2025, the Visit Sofia team participated in 18 international tourism exhibitions, reinforcing Sofia's position on the global travel market and establishing valuable partnerships with travel professionals from around the world.
