From 20 to 22 March 2026, Visit Sofia presented the Bulgarian capital at TravelXpo 2026, Norway's largest travel exhibition, held in Lillestrøm. Sofia was showcased as part of the official Bulgarian stand organised by the Ministry of Tourism.
During the exhibition, representatives of Visit Sofia met with H.E. Desislava Ivanova, Ambassador of Bulgaria to Norway. The meeting focused on opportunities to increase interest in Sofia among Norwegian travellers and to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector.
At TravelXpo 2026, Sofia was promoted as a modern European destination that combines rich cultural heritage, authentic experiences, a growing wine scene and easy access to nature. These qualities closely match the travel preferences of Norwegian visitors seeking diverse and high-quality experiences.
