From 19 to 21 May 2026, the Visit Sofia team took part in IMEX Frankfurt, one of the world's leading trade shows for the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry, held in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The event brings together destination representatives, event organisers and industry professionals from across the globe.
Sofia's participation marked another strategic step in promoting the Bulgarian capital as a competitive European destination for business meetings, international conferences and corporate events. During the exhibition, the Visit Sofia team held a series of meetings with international partners, associations and event organisers, presenting Sofia's capabilities to host events of various sizes and formats.
A key highlight was the presentation of Meetings Sofia, a specialised initiative of Visit Sofia dedicated to supporting the organisation of international and national conferences, congresses, corporate events and incentive programmes. Acting as a central point of contact, Meetings Sofia provides expert advice, logistical assistance and destination support while connecting organisers with suitable venues and local partners.
Sofia continues to strengthen its reputation as a dynamic and competitive MICE destination thanks to its strategic location, excellent transport connectivity, modern infrastructure and rich cultural heritage. The city offers a wide range of venues, from conference centres and hotels to distinctive cultural and urban locations suitable for accompanying programmes and special event formats.
