Following its participation at Conventa, Visit Sofia hosted an exclusive Post-Conventa FAM Trip for four international hosted buyers from 13 to 15 February 2026, offering them first-hand insight into Sofia's growing potential as a leading destination for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE).
The programme began with a visit to Inter Expo Center, where participants attended Holiday & SPA Expo 2026, Bulgaria's largest international tourism exhibition. The first day concluded with a dinner at ANDRÉ Restaurant, where guests had the opportunity to meet renowned Bulgarian chef André Tokev.
The itinerary also included site inspections of some of Sofia's leading hotels, including Grand Hotel Millennium Sofia, Hilton Sofia, Junó Hotel Sofia and East Plaza Hotel Sofia. Participants explored modern conference facilities, premium accommodation and the venues' capabilities for hosting international business events.
Key event venues featured in the programme included the National Palace of Culture (NDK) and Sofia Event Centre, showcasing Sofia's capacity to host congresses, corporate meetings and large-scale events.
Beyond the business agenda, the guests experienced another side of Sofia through visits to Wine Generator – Bulgarian Wine Hub, the traditional Bulgarian restaurant Vodenitsata, and guided tours of the city's most important cultural and historical landmarks.
The Post-Conventa FAM Trip clearly demonstrated that Sofia combines modern event infrastructure, high-quality hospitality, rich cultural heritage and outstanding gastronomy, reinforcing its position as one of Southeast Europe's emerging MICE destinations.
