From 20 to 21 January 2026, the Visit Sofia team participated in the CityDNA Expert Meeting held in Graz, Austria. Organised by the City Destinations Alliance (CityDNA), the event brought together destination management organisations, convention bureaux and tourism professionals from across Europe.
The programme focused on the strategic development of urban destinations and the exchange of best practices for sustainable tourism management. Key discussion topics included:
- strategic destination development and positioning;
- data-driven decision-making and sustainable management models;
- building effective partnerships between the public and private sectors.
In addition to the expert sessions, the meeting offered valuable networking opportunities through professional exchanges, study visits and informal discussions with representatives of leading European destination organisations.
Sofia has been a member of CityDNA since 2021. Participation in international forums such as this supports the exchange of knowledge, the development of new partnerships and the implementation of European best practices for the sustainable management and promotion of Sofia as a tourism destination.
