The 20th anniversary edition of Vitosha Run will take place on 30 August 2026, continuing the tradition of the mountain race from central Sofia to Cherni Vrah, the highest peak of Vitosha Mountain.
The race starts at 9:00 AM in front of the National Palace of Culture (NDK) and finishes at Cherni Vrah. The 18 km route features 1,734 m of elevation gain and passes through South Park, Dragalevtsi, the Vitosha Visitor Centre, Bay Krastyo Hut and Goli Vrah.
The race is open to men and women in several age categories. Every participant who finishes within the official time limit will receive a medal.
Participants can register in advance until 26 August 2026 or on site. On 29 August, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, participants can collect their race numbers and receive technical information at the Sofia – European Capital of Sport Information Centre.
The event is organised by the Marathon Association in partnership with Sofia Municipality, the Sofia – European Capital of Sport Foundation and the Bulgarian Tourist Union.
